ENERGY SMART New Homes Program aims to develop the market in New Orleans for energy efficient new and remodeled homes. This program offers incentives and promotion to Homebuilders who build homes more efficient than code.
Who Can Participate?
All Residential Contractors building new homes or qualifying remodels in Entergy New Orleans territory are eligible to participate.
How Can You Participate?
Builders can participate in one of two ways.
Peformance Path: Builders who build homes that achieve a third party HERS rating of 85 of lower quality for a $200 rebate, and at a HERS of 70 or lower, a $375 rebate. An additional $100 incentive is available for installing an Energy Star® Advanced Lighting Package.
OR
Prescriptive Path: Builders are eligible to receive incentives for installing qualifying features in a new home.
Step 1 – Enroll as a Participating New Home Builder
Step 2 – Notify Energy Smart when starting new project
Step 3 – Submit application and documentation of HERS rating or qualifying measure
Upon verification, receive Energy Smart Incentive!
